Organised by the Critical Investigations into Humanitarianism in Africa Team In collaboration with the American Political Science Association, the participants in this workshop will discuss approaches, pedagogies and methodologies for teaching critically about religion, humanitarianism, and development in Africa. Instead of the usual "let's invite foreigners to build the capacity of Africans," we emphasize the necessity of privileging the research and perspectives of African scholars and activists in courses that address these issues. We are especially interested in collaborating through developing and sharing syllabi, and possibly joint writing on these topics among students from different institutions.
