This film is a byproduct of research on Agikuyu people-forest relationships in the the Nyandarwa [Aberdare] forest in Kenya. It explores pre-colonial, colonial, and post-independence forest governance through the voices of Agikuyu people. It delves into issues of tenure, contestation over land, land and the Mau Mau liberation struggle, seed and food sovereignty, and community-based landscape restoration.
